My New Adventure: Backpacking

I’ve recently discovered a new hobby: backpacking.

In fact, I think my backpacking journey really began when I bought a ZEROGRAM backpacking package at E-Mart. The package included a 2-person tent, a backpack, and a sleeping pad, and I paid 399,800 Korean won for the entire package.

For someone just starting out in backpacking, I thought it was a great value. The package includes the essential gear I need to get started, and the overall quality and combination of the products have been very satisfying. It felt like a great way to enter the world of backpacking without having to buy everything separately.

I’ve always enjoyed riding my bicycle, and cycling has given me the freedom to explore places at my own pace. But backpacking feels different. Instead of riding from one place to another, I can slow down, walk deeper into nature, carry everything I need on my back, and spend a night completely surrounded by nature.

Luckily, I also have a friend who has been camping for many years. He has been giving me plenty of advice about everything from choosing gear and setting up a tent to preparing for my first backpacking trips. Having someone experienced to learn from makes starting this new hobby even more exciting.

On this blog, I’d like to share my journey into backpacking — what I enjoy about it, how it differs from cycling, the gear I use, and some of the best places in Korea for backpacking.

I’ll also introduce the trails, mountains, campsites, and beautiful places I discover along the way. Hopefully, this blog will become a record of my journey as I learn, explore, and experience more of the outdoors.

I’ll also be sharing detailed reviews and stories about the gear I use, one piece at a time. From my tent and backpack to my sleeping pad and other backpacking essentials, I’ll introduce each item, share why I chose it, and talk about how it performs on my actual trips.

And there’s one place I especially want to visit someday: a campsite in Japan where I can wake up to an incredible view of Mount Fuji.

I’ve always wanted to see Mount Fuji up close, but seeing it from my own tent in the early morning would be something truly special.

This is just the beginning of my backpacking journey.

New trails, new places, new challenges, and new memories are waiting.
